Borthwick Castle

It is one of the finest and best preserved 15th Century keeps in Scotland. The 600 year history that goes with the castle starts with Sir William de Borthwick who built it. During 2015, the castle had an enormous overhaul and is now fully in keeping with all the luxury, warmth and homeliness of a modern day castle. The castle recently won a prestigious design award. Inveraray Castle
Inveraray Castle & Gardens is the perfect base from which to enjoy the west of Scotland. An imposing, turreted building, the Castle has been home to the Dukes of Argyll and seat of the Clan Campbell since the 1700s and sits on the edge of Loch Fyne, surrounded by the majestic West Highlands. The castle was inspired by Vanbrugh and includes a vast array of arms of display; original hand-painted ceilings, tapestries and furniture; portraits tracing the family in their role as key players in British history; as well as the formal gardens famous for their rhododendrons and azaleas.

Kinross House, Perth & Kinross-Shire. This Scottish palladian mansion, described as Scotland’s ‘noblest classical country house’. The house has been sensitively refurbished to its original glory. Kinross House was the winner of the Historic Houses Association and Sotheby’s UK Restoration Award 2013. Sir William Bruce designed Kinross House having created and designed the landscape and formal gardens 10 years before construction started on the house in 1685. Sir William Bruce is regarded as the founder of classical architecture in Scotland and Kinross House is the first, most important, neoclassical Palladian mansion built in Scotland and is one of the grandest Scottish country house rentals.
